AUA Accepted into the Association of American International Colleges
and Universities
Athens, April 13 - The Association of American International
Colleges and Universities (AAICU), during its annual meeting, approved
the full membership of the American University of Armenia (AUA)
in the organization. AUA President, Haroutune Armenian said, "Our
membership in this Association will improve our networking and will
allow us to participate in a number of joint programmatic as well
as management projects. We look forward to becoming very active
members of the AAICU."
The AAICU is composed of a number of distinct, university-level
institutions that are accredited by one of the regional accrediting
agencies in the United States, or have an equivalent status. These
include the American Universities of Bulgaria, Cairo, Paris, Thessaloniki,
Kyrgyzstan, Beirut, Sharjah; The American College of Greece, Richmond
The American International University in London; University of La
Verne, Athens; John Cabot University in Rome; Haigazian University,
Beirut; Lebanese American University; Saint Louis University in
Spain; and Franklin College in Switzerland.
AUA's academic program provides graduate education
in Business and Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer and
Information Sciences, Political Science, Health Sciences, Law, Comparative
Legal Studies, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. The use
of English as the language of instruction is intended to facilitate
communication between graduates of AUA and their colleagues throughout
the world and to attract an international faculty cadre and student
body.
